KCP COMMUNITY CELEBRATES THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF REV. KWON YOUNG SOO

King’s College of the Philippines–Bambang, Inc. commemorated the life and enduring legacy of its founder, Rev. Kwon Young Soo, through a meaningful celebration held on November 20, 2025, at the KCP Grounds. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests in a day of gratitude, reflection, and unity.

The program featured songs, prayers, and an inspirational message from Rev. Clemence A. Pagtan Jr., who highlighted the values that Rev. Kwon exemplified throughout his life—service to others, dedication to education, and commitment to community development. These principles continue to guide the institution’s mission and vision.

A short film showcasing the founder’s life and contributions was also presented. The documentary highlighted his passion for providing quality education and his vision of establishing a learning institution that nurtures both academic excellence and character formation.

One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the message delivered by Dr. Ae Jin Kwon, Chief Executive Officer of KCP and daughter of the founder. She shared a heartfelt message written by Rev. Kwon himself, allowing the KCP community to reflect on his aspirations for future generations. His words reinforced the importance of education, integrity, compassion, and service to society.

The celebration also featured various student performances and creative presentations. Through poster-making, slogan-writing, poetry, music, and dance, students expressed their appreciation for the founder’s values and demonstrated how his vision continues to inspire the KCP community. These activities encouraged creativity, cultural expression, and active student participation.

More than a commemoration, the event served as a reminder of the institution’s commitment to holistic education, community engagement, and values-driven leadership. The celebration reflected how Rev. Kwon’s legacy continues to inspire students and educators to contribute positively to society while upholding the principles of service, unity, and lifelong learning.
