Weaving Culture, Enriching Futures: Honoring Indigenous Heritage and Identity
On October 10, 2025, King’s College of the Philippines–Bambang, Inc. joined the celebration of Indigenous Peoples Month and the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) Commemoration with the theme, “Weaving Culture, Enriching Futures.”
The celebration highlighted the rich cultural heritage, traditions, knowledge systems, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in preserving cultural diversity and promoting sustainable development. Students, faculty members, and staff participated in activities that fostered appreciation, respect, and understanding of indigenous cultures and communities.
The event served as a platform to recognize the rights, identity, and valuable contributions of Indigenous Peoples while promoting cultural awareness and inclusivity within the academic community. Through various presentations and educational activities, participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting indigenous heritage and supporting the continued empowerment of indigenous communities.
Moreover, the celebration emphasized the role of education in preserving cultural traditions and encouraging future generations to value diversity, social inclusion, and community engagement. It also reinforced the institution’s commitment to promoting respect for cultural identity and supporting initiatives that contribute to sustainable and inclusive development.
By commemorating Indigenous Peoples Month and the enactment of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA), KCP continues to foster a learning environment that values cultural heritage, social responsibility, and the meaningful participation of Indigenous Peoples in nation-building.
